CSGOPremier started as a way to keep playing CS:GO after Valve moved everyone to CS2. That isn't changing. What is changing: Counter-Strike 2 now has servers in our fleet too, on its own site at cs2.csgopremier.com. Every CS2 match runs with a server-side anti-cheat and anti-wallhack, and you don't have to install anything to get it.

One account, two games

Sign in on the CS2 site with the account you already use for CS:GO. CS2 gets its own queues, its own rating and its own leaderboard, so your CS:GO rating stays exactly where it is. Play one, play both, switch whenever you like.

What you can play

Ranked 5v5, Wingman and 1v1 queues, the weekly cash ladder and cups all come to CS2. Matches earn season XP and PP like they do on CS:GO; item drops stay on CS:GO. You play on the regular Counter-Strike 2 from Steam. When your match is ready, click Connect to game and Steam opens CS2 and joins the server; the console connect command is still there as a backup. The how to play CS2 guide takes about five minutes.

Anti-cheat in every CS2 match

CS2AC logoCS2FOW logo
CS2AC and CS2FOW by karola3vax run on every CS2 match server.

Our CS2 servers run CS2AC, an anti-cheat that works on the server itself. From the first live round to the last, it checks aim, shooting, movement and the input each game client sends. Nothing runs on your PC, so there's no extra program to install and nothing to keep updated.

Next to it runs CS2FOW, an anti-wallhack. The server doesn't send your game the positions of enemies you can't see, so a wallhack has very little to show.

Detections go straight to our staff. We review them together with the match demo and player reports before anyone is banned, the same way we handle reports on CS:GO. We won't say exactly what the anti-cheat looks for: that list would mostly help the people we're trying to catch.

The same trust checks

CS2 lobbies use the entry checks you know from CS:GO. Every player passes our reputation check before they can queue, and reported players are looked at by real people. The anti-cheat adds a layer on top of that; it doesn't replace it.

How to start

Install Counter-Strike 2 from Steam (it's free), head to cs2.csgopremier.com and queue. When your match is ready, click Connect to game. If you get stuck, the CS2 guide walks through every step, including the console backup.

Frequently asked questions

Is CS2 on CSGOPremier free?

Yes. Counter-Strike 2 is free on Steam and queueing on CSGOPremier is free. Premium stays optional.

Do I need a new account for CS2?

No. Your CSGOPremier account works on both the CS:GO and CS2 sites. CS2 keeps its own rating and leaderboard, so your CS:GO rating doesn't change.

Do I have to install an anti-cheat to play CS2?

No. The anti-cheat runs on our match servers, not on your PC. There is nothing to download.

Does the anti-cheat ban people automatically?

No. A detection goes to our staff, who check the evidence, the match demo and player reports before anyone is banned.

What data does the CS2 anti-cheat use?

Only what happens in the match on our server: aim, shots, movement and the input your game sends. When it flags a player, a report with their SteamID, in-game name, the evidence, the map and the server goes to our staff and to karola3vax, the maker of CS2AC, with a short 3D replay of the moment. Reports are kept for up to 180 days. Chat and voice are never recorded. Our Privacy Policy has the details.

Is CS:GO going away?

No. CS:GO keeps its servers, queues, cash ladder and everything else. CS2 runs alongside it.
